Hibiscus Cooling Mocktail

Ayurvedic Benefits

This refreshing mocktail combines traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern mixology. Hibiscus is known in Ayurveda for its cooling properties, making it perfect for balancing Pitta dosha. The combination of ingredients supports:

  • Cooling the body (Hibiscus + Mint)

  • Digestive fire balance (Lime + Orange bitters)

  • Hydration and electrolyte balance (Natural minerals)

Best enjoyed during Pitta season (summer) or by those with excess heat in the body.

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 1 cup strong hibiscus tea, cooled

  • 1/2 cup tonic water

  • 1/2 lime, juiced

  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves

  • 4-5 dashes orange bitters

  • 1 large ice cube (optional)

  • Garnish: lime wheel, mint sprig

Method

  1. Prepare the base: Brew hibiscus tea strong (I like to use 3-4 tea bags for 8 cups of water) and let cool completely. The deeper the color, the more potent the cooling properties.

  2. Muddle mindfully: In a glass, gently muddle mint leaves to release oils without breaking them completely.

  3. Build with intention: Add ice cibe, pour in cooled hibiscus tea, fresh lime juice, and orange bitters.

  4. Add effervescence: Top with tonic or soda water and stir

Garnish beautifully: Add lime wheel or fresh mint sprig
