Lemon Ginger Morning Power Elixir

This powerful elixir is packed with warming, stimulating, and detoxifying ingredientsโ€”perfect for balancing Kapha dosha, which tends to accumulate during the damp and heavy season. Take this shot in the morning with a glass of warm water to fire up digestion, break up congestion, increase circulation and clear stagnation from the body. 


*I recommend using a juicer, but if you donโ€™t have one, mix the ingredients into a blender and then strain or use a nut milk bag to remove the pulp (takes a little more time). I make this batch on a Sunday and have it in a jar in my refrigerator for the whole week.* (Link to the juicer I use)

Ingredients

  • 3 - 4 large organic lemons or 5 - 6 smaller lemons (Sour, Astringent)

  • 2 - 3 large pieces of ginger or more! (Pungent, Sweet)

  • 4 - 5 pieces of turmeric (Bitter, Pungent, Astringent)

  • Cayenne (Pungent)

  • Black Pepper (Pungent)

  • Cinnamon (Sweet, Pungent)

  • Olive Oil (Sweet) - need a high-quality finishing oil

Instructions

  • Wash and chop the produce!

  • Using the juicer or blender add the ginger, turmeric and lemons

  • Strain (if needed)

  • Pour mixture into a large mason jar

  • Add ~ 8 oz of water

  • Add spices (black pepper, cinnamon, cayenne) - use ยฝ tsp of each or to your liking.

  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and shake!
