INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup coconut milk or coconut water (coconut milk for creamier)
- 3/4 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 ripe banana

- juice of 1 freshly squeezed lime
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 soaked date, pitted (optional, for sweetness)
STEPS
1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
2. Blend until smooth - Blend on high until completely smooth, about 30-45 seconds. Add a splash of more liquid if it's too thick.
3. Serve and enjoy - Pour into a glass and enjoy in the afternoon - not first thing in the morning, when digestive fire is still warming up.
WHY THESE INGREDIENTS WORK FOR PITTA
Coconut is cooling and hydrating. Mango and banana are sweet, grounding fruits that don't aggravate Pitta. Mint is one of the most Pitta-cooling herbs in Ayurveda. Cardamom aids digestion and lifts mood without adding heat. No dairy keeps food combining clean — dairy and fruit digest differently and can create ama (toxins) when combined.
BEST TIME TO ENJOY
Early to late afternoon, during the hottest part of the day — not first thing in the morning.
